Palliative care with us

Palliative care with us

A warm place in the final phase of life – Hazelaar ward

When life enters its final phase, we want to be there where it truly counts: with attention, warmth, and respect. On our new palliative care ward, Hazelaar, we offer care that goes beyond mere medical support. We believe in aging and dying with dignity, as expressed in Brentano’s vision: with attention to autonomy, the life story, and the choices of our clients. Here, it is about creating meaningful moments, experiencing comfort, and supporting both the client and the family—on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

Our care is intended for people in the terminal or final stages of life who require 24-hour care in a peaceful and protected environment.

What can you expect from us?
At our center, personal, warm care comes first. Our expert multidisciplinary team consists of caregivers, nurses, doctors, spiritual caregivers, physiotherapists, and dedicated volunteers, among others. We guide you step by step, with attention to what *you* need.

Family and loved ones are also welcome and are warmly involved in the care and daily life. Visitors are always welcome, and staying in your loved one's room is possible upon consultation. Dining together in our restaurant is also possible, allowing small, precious moments to be shared.

Saying goodbye is difficult. That is why we offer personal farewell guidance, ensuring that the final part of the journey is not alone, but filled with attention and respect. Together with family and loved ones, we work on giving meaningful content to this period, with space for loving memories.

Why choose Hazelaar?
With us, you are not a number, but a person with a story. We distinguish ourselves by:

  • Small-scale, homey atmosphere
  • Multidisciplinary team with specialist knowledge
  • Spiritual care and personal bereavement support
  • Collaboration with general practitioners and hospitals
  • Attention to family, informal caregivers, and connectedness
