Remote care via the Compaan tablet
What is video care?
A centrally operating digital team conducts video calls with clients via a tablet, also known as remote care. The client receives a Compaan from Brentano. This is an easy-to-use tablet developed for the elderly or people without digital experience.
If you require home care, the district nurse will assess whether video care is suitable for your care needs. If so, you and your family will receive an explanation regarding video care and the tablet. Subsequently, the tablet will be delivered to your home and installed by one of our care staff members. During this visit, a trial session for video care will also be held immediately, so that you become familiar with how video calling works and get to know our digital team. If you already have a tablet, an application can also be installed on your own tablet.
The video calls are scheduled at pre-agreed times. This can be twice a day or a few times a week. We are happy to work with you to determine what you need to have a good quality of life and live safely.
What is it used for, among other things?
Video care can be a supplement to actual care at the client's home and can be effectively used for many care needs as remote support. Examples of care moments include the following:
- Medication control/support (e.g. monitoring medication intake)
- Wound and stoma check
Video care can be used in combination with community home care, but if desired, all care can also be provided via video care. With video care, the client retains greater independence and control over their own day—a helping hand. Video care can be just enough to get through the day with a familiar and secure feeling.

We take care of the complete package required: the purchase and delivery of your tablet.
Are there any costs involved?
You receive the tablet on loan. There are no costs for you associated with using video care.
