What is a WhatsApp community?
A WhatsApp community is a group within the WhatsApp app where multiple people come together to exchange messages. It is like a virtual meeting room where you can send and receive messages from other members of the group.
How does a WhatsApp community work?
Install WhatsAppFirst of all, you need the WhatsApp app on your smartphone. You can download it from the App Store (for iPhone) or the Google Play Store (for Android phones).
Join the community: Email to vrijwilligers@brentano.nl to receive the QR code with which you can register.
Choose your groupThere are various groups within the community, such as 'Hulp Klaasje Zevenster', 'Hulp 't Huis aan de Poel', etc. By clicking on the name of the group, you sign up for this specific group. This way, you only receive notifications from the groups you choose yourself.
Read messagesAs soon as you are added to a group, you will receive messages from administrators. You can read these by opening the WhatsApp app and going to the group within the community.
Responding to pollsAdministrators send out polls with requests for help. If you want to sign up for a specific request, click 'I am present' in the poll. We will then assume that you will be at the relevant location on that day/time.
Phone number visiblePlease note that your phone number is visible to other members when you join a WhatsApp community. This is how WhatsApp works, and it helps to communicate directly with each other.
Manage notificationsSometimes the number of messages can be high. You can manage notifications for the community by tapping the community name and turning off or adjusting the notifications.

1. What if I accidentally delete a message?
Don't worry, if you accidentally delete a message, you cannot recover it, but you can always ask someone else to resend the message.
2. Can I leave the community if I want to?
Yes, you can leave the community at any time. Go to the community settings and select 'Leave group'.
3. Is my phone number visible to others?
Yes, your phone number is visible to all members of the WhatsApp community. This is how the app works and enables communication between members.
4. How do I sign up?
Email to vrijwilligers@brentano.nl for the QR code to sign up. Make sure you already have WhatsApp installed on your phone. Scan the received QR code with your smartphone. This will take you directly to the WhatsApp group you can join.
