At Brentano, care and well-being revolve around what really matters.
To age with dignity. To continue living life the way one wants.
We have been dedicated to the elderly since 1821. What began with Josephus Augustinus Brentano's wish to provide housing and care for older people has grown into a committed elderly care organization with deep roots in Amstelveen.
Today, with 560 employees and over 250 volunteers, we support approximately 700 clients. At home and at our residential care locations.
What we do
We offer:
- District nursing and home support
- Care and nursing in our residential care locations
- Palliative care
- Guidance, well-being and activities
- Support for relatives and informal caregivers
We work based on what someone values in his or her life.
We align our care and support with this, together with the network and with the smart use of tools and technology where helpful.
A good neighbor in Amstelveen
Brentano is more than a care organization. We are part of the neighborhood.
We know the neighborhoods, the associations, and the people. We collaborate with partners in the Amstelland region and actively seek connection with family, volunteers, and local residents. Our locations are places where people meet, even if you do not receive care.
In this way, we contribute to a community where people look out for one another and remain self-reliant.
Our way of working
We look beyond the care needs alone.
From Positive Health we look at the whole picture: at resilience, what someone can still do, and what makes life meaningful.
With the Social Approach to Dementia we see people with dementia not as their diagnosis, but as human beings with a life story, relationships, and needs.
In doing so, we work based on understanding, proximity, and collaboration with the network.
Small teams, familiar faces
We work in small, fixed teams.
This way, there is room for personal contact and genuine attention.
Our professionals combine expertise with commitment. We continue to learn and develop so that we can continue to provide good care, even in a changing world.
Caring together
We create good care together.
With clients. With family and loved ones. With volunteers, local residents, and partners in the neighborhood.
Not caring for, but caring with.
Meaningful work
At Brentano, people work in an environment where they feel welcome, can be themselves, and build something that matters together. That is why we invest in job satisfaction, craftsmanship, and collaboration. Our professionals are given room for their own input and autonomy. We utilize talent, encourage development, and work in teams where trust and openness are important.
